High Street Surgery - Dispensary

Current or Acute Prescriptions

If the doctor gives you a signed prescription in the surgery we can dispense this immediately, providing it is in stock.

Repeat Prescriptions – High Street and Firs

WE REGRET THAT WE CANNOT ACCEPT TELEPHONE REQUESTS BECAUSE OF THE DANGERS OF MISTAKES AND THE HIGH VOLUME OF REQUESTS.

Repeat prescriptions are medications which the doctor has entered on the computers system, giving prior authorisation, usually on a monthly basis, for a predefined time limit. The patient will have a white printed list which should be used to order repeats until the date for review which will be shown at the end of the list.

Repeat Prescriptions can usually be collected 2 working days (not 48 hours) after submission of the request.

Repeat requests should be placed in the white post box on the wall between the foot of the stairs and the dispensary. If you have several sheets of repeats, it is important that these are kept stapled together. Please remember to follow the instructions on your list and TICK each item you require (not cross).

If you are requesting a medication that is not on your repeat list you will need to write a letter to your doctor giving the detail of the medication you want and the reason why you are requesting it.  Please ensure that you have written your name and address clearly on the letter.

Firs patients can deposit repeat requests at the High Street. However these need to be in a sealed envelope with Firs written on the front. These prescriptions will then need to be collected at the Firs.

Arrangements for Patients for whom we are not allowed to dispense (ie. Patients living within one mile of a chemists shop).

Signed prescriptions can be collected from the dispensary in person  OR

Prescriptions can be sent to Procter's Chemist at your request, either at the High Street or Station Road.

If the above options are not possible, we can post a script back to you if you give us a SAE with your request.
